After days of tension between Russia and Turkey over Russian jets entering Turkish airspace, a Russian Mig-29 fighter jet has been shot down by the Turkish air force F-16s.
The Express reports:
One journalist tweeted that three Turkish planes were responding to “mysterious” lock-ons from Mig-29 jets, which are used by Putin’s forces.
Express.co.uk has contacted the Turkish government and the Russian military but neither could be reached for comment.
The incident comes days after a stern warning from the Turkish foreign ministry after many Russian incursions into Turkish airspace: “any such violation not be repeated,” otherwise Russia “will be responsible for any undesired incident that may occur.”
